Languedoc-Roussillon is a delightful corner in southern France with an attractive Coast line dotted with sandy beaches on the Mediterranean Sea. As it borders with Provence, the Pyrenees Mountains and Spain, it offers a variety of attractions for all tastes. In the interior, you can visit Castles, Abbeys, Medieval and Roman towns. As many other areas of France , it is a major wine producer, with Vin de Pays d’Oc and sparkling Crémant de Limoux among its best-known varieties, in fact, this region boasts more vineyards than other areas of France.

It is difficult to include in a few sentences what to see and do in Launguedoc, certainly one cannot miss the hill top walled town of Carcassonne, home of the Cathars, where time seems to have stopped at the Middle Ages. Here you can enjoy the tour of the ramparts which will take about 90 minutes and visit the castle for a small fee or Nîmes, with its Roman heritage.

For lovers of tranquil countryside, the Canal du Midi is a true work of engineering. It stretches for over 235 kilometres.  The tree-lined tow paths are great for walking and cycling, whilst barges still frequent the Canal – these days carrying holidaymakers rather than cargo.

Languedoc borders also to Camargue and its Natural Park, with its wild landscape which is quite unlike anywhere else in the south of France… it is also home to an astonishing range of wildlife, including semi-wild bulls and the renowned Camargue horses, and many hundreds of species of birds. Other wildlife includes wild boars, badgers, flamingos, tree frogs and water snakes.

The Languedoc region can be easily accessed with daily TGV trains which run from Paris to Montpellier, Beziers and Narbonne. Journey time is around 3.5 hours. Languedoc is well serviced by low-cost airlines. Airlines include Ryanair, EasyJet and BMI baby, flying into Montpellier, Beziers, Perpignan and Carcassonne.
