The Best Ways to Enjoy the Weather in Croatia in July

Lounge on the Beaches

There are a plethora of stunning sandy beaches in Croatia to relax on. The country boasts nearly 100 Blue Flag beaches, so there is always somewhere to enjoy the picturesque scenes along the coast.

Taking its name from its unique appearance, Croatia’s poster beach is the Golden Horn Beach in Bol, more formally known as Zlatni Rat Beach. It is shaped like a small peninsular, stretching into the turquoise waters and protruding at a point to appear like a horn. Even more distinctive, it changes its shape and position depending on the wind, tide and the current.

The famous beach houses wine bars, restaurants and resorts so you can experience the best Croatia has to offer all in one breathtakingly beautiful place. Allow the decades-old pine trees to shade you from the beaming sun, feel your feet burrow into the white sandy pebbles, and listen to the soundtrack of the waves lapping onto the shore whilst you indulge in a state of relaxation.

Dance at a Festival

Make sure you’ve packed your dancing shoes, as Croatia is proving to be Europe’s best up-and-coming festival hotspot. There are almost 20 music festivals in Croatia for you to find your groove, ranging from electronic tech festivals to classical orchestral concerts.

Taking over Split’s Stadion Park Mladeži’s stadium for three days in July, Ultra Europe is one of the largest electronic dance music festivals in the world. Celebrity DJs take centre stage, performing to crowds of over 160 000 people from over 140 countries  – not one to miss!

Dubrovnik’s cobbled streets are paved deep in history, with Renaissance fountains, palaces and Baroque churches adorning the old town. Hitting the streets mid July, the ‘Pearl of the Adriatic’ hosts Dubrovnik’s Summer Festival; this prestigious, highly-anticipated event – originally starting in the 1950s – adds a surge of new culture to one of the world’s best-preserved mediaeval cities. You will find an impressive program of theatre, opera, concerts and dance on open-air stages across the city taking place each night.

What To Wear For The Weather in Croatia in July

As the temperature in Croatia soars to such heights,  you may be thinking about what to wear in Croatia in July.

A successful summer uniform needs to be textile savvy! Light fabrics and baggy options should be bursting out the seams of your suitcase. Linen, muslin and cotton are recommended as they are highly breathable, and therefore most comfortable in a dry climate.

Croatia in July will leave even those most climatised to the heat in desperate need of a dip in the sea – be sure to pack your swimwear! If you’re wanting to explore any hidden nooks of the crystal clear shoreline,  snorkelling masks could be a good addition too.
