If you are a shopper, you can wander around the pedestrian shopping streets and you can find the variety of souvenirs and shops. For brand name stores and stylish restaurants, you can visit the Matoyánni Street. One of the places you don’t want to miss is Alefkántra or “Little Venice”, an 18th century district, dominated by grand captains’ mansions with colourful balconies and stylish windows. Here you can enjoy your coffee with a beautiful view and admire the windmills standing imposingly on the hillside above.

Another traditional settlement of Mykonos is the village Áno Merá, situated around the historic monastery of Panayia Tourliani, at just 8 km east of Chora. This village is a historical landmark and was founded by monks in 1542.

The archaeological site of Delos

One of the most famous archaeological sites in Greece is Delos island, located 2 kilometers west from Mykonos. The whole island was declared a national museum.

According to a legend, the island of Delos was made to appear from the depths by Poseidon’s trident. He remained a floating island until Zeus bound it to the bottom of the sea with diamond chains.

Little Venice

Little Venice is one of the most romantic places on the entire island. There are plenty of cafes and restaurants here, so grab a table towards the end of the day to enjoy an amazing sunset.

Castle Panigirakis

The Windmills

Windmills are placed in the south of Chora, between interesting Alefkandra and Neochori. The mounds influence visitors with their overwhelming massive and completely white shapes in a sea-oriented direction. A number of seven mills have been preserved, out of the ten mills that until the beginning of the 20th century grinded local wheat using the constant wind power.

Best Beaches in Mykonos

Do not forget to make a reservation to grab a place on the beach and also at the restaurant.

Scorpios

Scorpios is one of the most beautiful places in Mykonos. Scorpios was opened in May 2015 and has everything you can wish for: beach, restaurant and bar. In addition, the music is very cool, and after sunset you can party all night long. If you want privacy, please relax in the hammock, eat seafood at the restaurant and enjoy the warm weather.

JackieO‘ Bar

JackieO ‘Bar is located close to Super Paradise Beach and it looks stunning. The beach is great, the restaurant is extremely chic and the pool bar is brilliant. The afternoons at JackieO ‘Bar start at sunset and can hold until 7am. Try the sweets here.

Pasaji Mykonos

It is located in Ornos Beach – one of the most developed resorts of Mykonos, and the most family-friendly beach on Mykonos. Passage has everything you want – a beautiful beach, a cool restaurant, swimming pool and bar. In the evening you can catch an evening with live music – saxophone and vocal. Ornos Beach – 3 km south of the Chora, it’s a beautiful beach with lovely surroundings and many tavernas.

Monarch

The beach has very fine sand, the sea has a sensational color, the restaurant is very chic, there is a beach bar and a shop with perfect pieces for a Summer outfit.

Elia Beach

This is the longest beach on Mykonos. In high season, there are 5 or 6 buses per day from Mykonos Town to Elia. There is also a boat from Platis Gialos to Elia. Don’t worry if you have a rental car, this is a place with parking lots.

Paradise Beach

This beach is dedicated for party lovers, with many bars spilling out onto the sand. After the sun goes down, the party just gets louder. Buses go directly from Mykonos Town to Paradise Beach.

Agios Ioannis Beach

5 km south of Mykonos Town, this beach is a beautiful and a quiet place. You can arrive here with a bus direct from Mykonos Town.

Mykonos Nightlife

Cavo Paradiso

Cavo Paradiso on Paradise is a good place to party. It hosts the best of parties on the island and is a clubber’s paradise! Here, music is from Monday to Sunday, heavy industry names: Steve Aoki, Armin van Buuren, Solomun, Paul van Dyk, Ingrosso, Cedric Gervais.

Paradise

Paradise club is located on Paradise Beach and it is regarded as one of the most popular bars all over the island. In Summer, thousands of tourists come at this huge open-air club to have a drink and dance.

Shopping

Take your time for a shopping session in Mykonos Town. It is the ideal place to buy genuine jewelry, clothing and accessories art objects and various souvenirs. Even the Hollywood celebrities have been attracted to the charming boutiques of Chora.

Need an adrenaline rush?

This island attracts sailors and surfers from all over the world! You can take surfing lessons in Kórfos, Fteliá, Meyáli Ámmos and Kalafátis.

If you are a sports lover you can play tennis or mini golf at Ayios Stéfanos, at Ayia Anna you can play beach volleyball or try sea parachuting or jet skiing at Eliá or Kalafátis. Diving fans can do a little exciting exploration of the underwater magic of Mykonos.

If you want to try diving, you need to know that September is the best month, when visibility is good and the water is warm.
