Villas in Santorini

We have an amazing selection of villas and apartments in Santorini

Santorini is the most famous of the Greek islands, the white-washed buildings gathered on a volcanic cliff contrasting with the blue Mediterranean Sea make this destination one of the most recognizable around the world. With its reputation for dazzling panoramas, romantic sunsets, and volcanic-sand beaches, it’s hardly surprising the island features on so many travelers’ bucket lists. Santorini takes on the same Cycladic theme as all the other Greek islands, but once you arrive there, you’ll notice that is an unforgettable land like no other.

There’s no denying the uniqueness of this destination or its huge allure. So, let’s start! Here’s all you need to know if you’re planning to visit Santorini, this magical place.

About Santorini

Best time to visit

Peak travel time is July and August when prices soar and hotels, viewpoints and beaches are packed with tourists. The shoulder-season months of April, May, early June, late September, and October are good times to visit – things are marginally quieter at the caldera edge, and considerably quieter where accommodation bargains are plentiful.

Don’t discount a winter break, when crowds are scarce (and prices low) while the scenery is still breathtaking. Santorini is working on positioning itself as a year-round destination.

How to get there

Santorini Airport has year-round flight connections with Athens, and summertime European connections

On the island, bus services are decent (if crowded in summer); loads of companies offer cars, mopeds and ATV four-wheeler bikes for rent.

Things to do

Explore the island...
The obvious activity is to walk the caldera edge and admire the views. Walks in and around Fira are spectacular, particularly heading north to Firostefani and Imerovigli along the caldera-edge pathway. Keep walking and you’ll eventually reach Oia, but be aware that this is no small undertaking and the trail beyond Imerovigli can be rough. It’s about 9km in all, and a good three- to four-hours’ walk in one direction.

Food and Drink

Kapari Wine Restaurant – This place literally defines the term “dinner with a view.” It’s located in Imerovigli, the highest point of the caldera, and if you’re lucky enough to book a seat during sunset, the view is unreal. The staff, presentation, and food are of an exceptionally high standard. A must in Santorini!

V Lounge Cafe & Cocktail Bar – An incredible cocktail bar in Fira where you need to make a booking if you want good seats. They serve tapas and creative cocktails in a rooftop setting overlooking the caldera, ocean, and volcano. There are many places like this in Fira, but this is one of the best!
